Treatment while you visit family in Mirpur
Many British Pakistani families have their roots in Mirpur. Couples often have treatment with us while visiting relatives, attending a wedding or on holiday.
About 800 patients from the UK have had treatment with us in the last two years.
Most come from Birmingham, Bradford, London and Manchester.

One price, medicines included
For families from the UK, USA, Europe and Hong Kong, IVF or ICSI costs £800, including medicines and embryo freezing. The first consultation, scan and semen analysis are free.
Payment is by bank transfer to our UK account. Treatment depends on a doctor’s assessment at your consultation.
How a visit works
Before you travel
Start with a video consultation. Tell us about any tests you have had in the UK, and we will plan your treatment around your trip.
Starting treatment
Treatment usually starts on the second day of your period, with a scan and about ten days of injections.
Egg collection and transfer
Eggs are collected at the hospital and fertilised in our laboratory. The embryo transfer follows three to five days later.
Back home
Take a pregnancy test about 10 to 14 days after the transfer. If it is positive, your pregnancy care continues with your doctor in the UK.

Getting to Mirpur
The nearest airports are Sialkot International, about 125 km from the hospital by road, and Islamabad International, about 146 km away. Allow about two and a half to three hours by car from either.
Your doctor in the UK
With your permission, we send your GP or gynaecologist a full summary of your treatment in English, so your care continues smoothly when you are home.
Before you travel
Pakistan is 5 hours ahead of the UK in winter and 4 hours ahead in summer.
Travel advice
In October 2026 the UK government advises against all but essential travel to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which includes Mirpur, and reports demonstrations in the area. It also advises against all travel to Peshawar and Swat. Travelling against this advice can invalidate your travel insurance. Check the latest UK travel advice for Pakistan before you book.
Zika virus and pregnancy
UK health guidance lists a risk of Zika virus in Pakistan. It advises women to avoid becoming pregnant while they are in Pakistan and for 2 months afterwards, or for 3 months if both partners travelled. Please talk to your GP or a travel clinic before you plan treatment, and read the TravelHealthPro guidance for Pakistan. We will go through this with you at your consultation.
Regulation
MCI is in Pakistan, so it is not licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), which regulates fertility clinics in the UK. Read the HFEA’s advice on fertility treatment abroad before you decide.
